Carolina Ecosytem, Inc. (CEI) was formed in 2004 and provides environmental services in the North Carolina area. Founded by experienced scientists, it is operated and owned by dedicated professional workers.

CEI is highly experienced in many areas of developmental projects such as natural resource assessments, wetland/stream delineations, clean water act, SEPA/NEPA document preparation, and other regulatory permitting. With each project done, it is led by an experienced scientist who has over 20 years of experience while supported by a full and qualified staff with capabilities in botany, forestry, GIS, soil science, and other related disciplines. Along with our projects we provide consulting services to various transportation, solid waste, water/wastewater, energy, and mining industries.

CEI is a Small Professional Services Firm (SPSF) prequalified with NCDOT for environmental permitting, natural resources investigations (delineations, natural community studies, and protected species surveys), mitigation planning, and biological monitoring, and has been selected for four consecutive on-call contracts (2008-2017) for the NCDOT Natural Environment Section. We have a long history of NCDOT transportation experience, including performing over 200 natural resource studies for various NCDOT projects such as new alignments, road widening, bridge replacements, and related infrastructure. In addition, our senior personnel have been involved in permitting Design-Build (DB) projects since the inception of NCDOT’s Alternative Delivery program.
