Our Environmental Setting
We are located in the heart of the Neuse River Basin within the 8-digit hydrologic unit 03020201. Our office is located 300 feet above the jurisdictional beginning of an unnamed tributary of White Oak Creek. White Oak Creek then flows into Swift Creek which flows into the Neuse River.
Our office is located in the piedmont near the upper coastal plain boundary. The office site sits completely within uplands and is classified as a cecil loam soil. All stormwater from the impervious surfaces of the office flows through a permanently conserved forested buffer for 300 feet before entering a jurisdictional surface water.
Much of the area around the office has been maintained with forest vegetation and is typical of a dry-mesic oak-hickory forest. Wildlife sighted at the office includes deer, groundhog, grey fox, squirrels, and numerous birds.
